How to retrieve videos deleted from memory card

shaw2

Hello! I've recently used Canon Camera Connect to transfer pictures to my phone. I didn't know that videos cannot be transferred via phone so I deleted them as soon as the transfer finished. Is there any way that I can retrieve those videos? Hoping for answers as I need them for my video project at school next week. Looking forward for any answer regarding the topic. Thank you so so much!

Greetings,

If you've only deleted the videos, many memory card manufacturers have recovery software that might be able to help you recover the deleted files.

If you have formatted the card it becomes more difficult and if you have continued to use it, one or more of the files may have been overwritten.

PhotoRec Is a great command line utility that does very well.  It's free.

You can check with the media card manufacturer to see what they have.  These typically cost $$$ but often work equally as well.  I don't think you need to pay for them unless they determine they can actually recover your files.

Thank you so much for responding! Very well appreciated 🥺☺️ I'll see if it works and get back to this thread ☺️

If you want to recover video with Photorec and it doesn't work, then try this method https://www.cgsecurity.org/testdisk_doc/photorec_video.html
