I bought a SDXC 64GB SanDisk SD card and I keep getting a "CARD ERROR" message on my camcorder. I have formatted the card and all the other troubleshooting options. I am now wondering If either the card type (SDXC) is incompatible or the card reader is broken.

That is a very old device. You can only use a basic SD card.

Thank you for replying so fast! So does this mean that a SDHC card would work?

If not, please provide a name or link with a card that would work. Thank you.

I don't know about SDHC. That standard was issued right around the time your camera was released. If you don't have any SD cards of your own to try you must know someone who does.

Greetings,
Additionally. See page 97 of the user guide:

At the time, cards were only 8GB. A 64GB card might be beyond the hardware's capability.
eBAY has cards, so does Amazon.
You also need to consider that you got someone's 15 yr old dud. I had a ZR50. At the time, they were serious fun. Hope it works out.
