Thank you. The EF 100-400 L IS II really is an amazing lens. To give that kind of detail with wide open with a 1.4X TC is almost unbelievable. Canon again hits a home run with this lens as it has with all the L IS II lenses.

There really isn't a yes or no answer to that. 

Yes, the EF 100-400mm F4.5-5.6L IS II USM will mount and Auto Focus on the T3.

 

The negatives.

 

 

When used with an Extender EF 1.4X III like in many of my photos the lens' maximum aperture becomes f/8 and will not Auto Focus on the T3.

 

Also the T3 is a smaller and lighter camera. Extra care would need to be taken to ensure that the lens didn't over stress the camera's lens mount.
