This spring I am splitting time between photography and helping with coaching duties so it is going to be a busy soccer season. And Mother Nature always gets the last laugh because after months of complaining about shooting football in dark stadiums and in an assortment of indoor venues there was more than enough very harsh sunlight. The practice field is very harshly lit during these almost Spring afternoons but fortunately the regular stadium will be much better. It was also miserably cold with the wind gusting to 40 MPH. Early in practice, I ran the girls through a basic baseline measurement on a ball control "torture course" and the wind gusts made those time measurements pretty much useless but today looks far better.
In the photo, my daughter (wearing the green penny) is about to break away and score a goal. Shot with a 1DX III and an EF 400 F2.8 IS II @ F2.8, 1/1250, ISO 320.
