I was reminded tonight while shooting a HS soccer match that it is often easy to complain about camera specifications, control layout, menu design, etc. but compared to the true pain our subjects often suffer we have a VERY easy life as photographers 🙂 I love the game but I am glad to be on the sideline and not on the pitch!
I coached soccer for many years and have had a lot of walking wounded playing for me but I have never seen a HS or youth soccer team where a player has a broken arm. Tonight two players were on the pitch in casts with broken arms suffered in matches earlier this season.
Images captured with a pair of 1DX III bodies using 70-200 and 400 f2.8 glass wide open @ 1/1000 with ISO set to auto, in these photos that was ISO 8,000. Captured in RAW and processed through DPP with standard NR.
