I got up early this morning, and headed to a local kingfisher hide where they have regular visits from these colourful birds. On arrivel at 7:20 we could hear them calling from close by, and by 7:30 I had these three shots in the camera.
All with EOS R6 Mark II and EF 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6L IS II USM + Extender EF1.4x MkIII
Eelctronic shutter and high speed drive used, but not raw burst mode - I used that later 😎

Thank you.
I think they are known as "Common Kingfishers", but usually just Kingfishers. This is in the UK.

It’s crazy how little birds bring joy, isn’t it?! I love their coloring and I love you that you got in motion with wings! Makes me feels like I am there. Amazing job!

It’s even more impressive since it is your first attempt. The kingfishers here seem to be very flighty, just when you think you are almost close enough, off they go just a little further away. My best results came when I was in a kayak. I hope to get one in flight.
Anyway again, excellent work!
