Telephoto lenses normally do not use tulip hoods, if you don't have the original hood you should be able to find a generic screw on that is pretty close.
If it's too heavy definitely go for the 100-50 or the 200-800. Even though a prime is probably going to be a little better than a zoom, it's worth nothing sitting at home because it is too heavy.
