Capture On Touch V5 Pro | Output File Name change

MarioMiskovic
Apprentice

Hello everyone,

I'm currently facing an issue with changing the output file name from a barcode detection zone in CaptureOnTouch V5 Pro. The software scans the whole barcode correctly, but I can't seem to find a way to instruct it to drop the first 5 characters from what it reads from the barcode.

I'm using the newest version of CaptureOnTouch V5 Pro on a Windows 10 terminal. Any help or guidance on how to achieve this would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you!

1.Got Document with a QR Code,
2.Inster doc into scanner

Hi Mario! Thanks for posting in the Canon Community Forum. I see that you are using CaptureOnTouch Pro with your DR-G2000 and you would like the first string “Demo_” dropped from the File name.

You can change the File Name option through the Edit window in CaptureOnTouch. When you have the program open, you will see a pencil symbol on the selected Output or Shortcut. When you click on that pencil symbol, the Edit window will open.

Once the Edit window opens, you can look for the File name (if you have opened the Edit window for a shortcut, you will need to click on the Output tab first). You can click on the box that contains the File name and delete “Demo_” or change the name to Test. After that, you can click on the Close button in the bottom of the Edit window. When you click on Close, any changes you made will be saved.

After you have changed the File Name, the name you selected will be used when your scans are saved.

For more information about using the Edit options in CaptureOnTouch, you can visit the following web articles:

If you are scanning using a Selected Output:

(look for “Edit [Output] Panel”)

If you are scanning using a Shortcut:

(scroll down and look for “Registering and editing scanning shortcuts”)

https://support.usa.canon.com/kb/index?page=content&id=ART116027

I hope this information helps. Thanks for choosing Canon.
