Hi Everyone,

Does anyone know how to remove the "No Card In Camera" message on R5C screen?

It annoys and blocks the crucial parts of the screen, especially when working with products.

Tell me there is a setting like that. Canon can't joke like this. It is literally blocking almost every shot.

Greetings,

In photo mode there is a setting called release shutter without card installed.

Am I correct to assume this is video mode/cinema OS?

Are you tethering?

The setting is on and camera is shooting without card. The problem is getting rif of that message since its blocking the view.

By putting a card in?

Having a card in the slot creates probems with capture one. Capture one advises removing card since the camera wont connect if the card is half full.

Although not great, the best solution to this is to put a CFexpress Type B card in the camera.  An SD card would also get rid of this but can also introduce other issues so see what works best for your setup.

The section starting at page 256 in the manual has more info on how to remove a lot of the screen clutter which may be helpful.

And of course test your setups before walking on set to avoid these sorts of surprises and fumbling through the menu while the clients watch.

lets see if having CFexpress doesnt cause the same issues while tethering with capture one like SD card does.

It does not.  In C1, you can still shoot w/ a CFexpress in-camera, but not SD card.
