PIXMA PRO-10 - Error Code B200

1) Support Code : B200 says "An error has occured. The printer needs repair. Turn printer off and unplug the power cord of the printer from the power supply. Then see the manual and contact the service center."

2) The orange light is flashing in 10-flash segments. There is no error troubleshooting help for 10 flashes in the Canon guide.

 

Please let me know what I can do on my own. I can not lift the printer by myself (it weighs a TON) to take it to a service center.

Hopefully this helps anyone with a B200 error.  I have a Pro-10 that started flashing alternating between the power and fault LEDs, 10 times per LED per sequence.  Totally unresponsive to anything I did, has all Canon pigment installed and only Canon pigment has ever been installed.  Tried unplugging power, restarting numerous times, nothing.  I even tried someone's suggestion to unplug power, hold power button 30 seconds, reconnect AC power, still didn't work. 

Here's what solved it after deciding to experiment to try and initiate a hard reset command and not feeling that holding the power button down for 30 seconds while unplugged would accomplish doing that.

I unplugged the unit, held the power button down for at least 30 seconds (was probably about a minute), while STILL HOLDING THE POWER BUTTON DOWN plugged the unit back in and kept holding the power button down for at least another 30 seconds (likely was more like a minute), while doing this the power LED was solid white the entire time...  then while still holding down the power button also pressed and held the feed button for at least another 30 seconds (holding both down).  Upon releasing the two buttons the printer appeared to be off.

I turned the printer back on and, lo and behold, it started up and performed a lengthy self clean cycle and functioned as normal.

Hope this helps someone, may work on the Pro-100 as well.

I have a Pro-10 and tried everything suggested above with no luck until...

I UNPLUGGED THE PRINTER FOR A FEW HOURS THEN PLUGGED IT BACK IN.

Problem solved. 

Thank you all for your great suggestions! Without your guidance, I wouldn't have solved this issue and I would have likely started shopping for another (expensive) printer. 

This worked for me after hours of trying multiple versions of Aaron's accepted solution. I finally left the printer unplugged OVERNIGHT (I had tried a few hours before) and when I plugged in and started it I closed the paper trays on both sides. Went through super long tuneup cycle, but in the end everything seems to be working

I did this and upon release the orange feed light stayed on and nothing responded. I had to unplug the back to get it to reboot. Then it did its usual (what feels like) 10 minutes of rolling the rollers and it finally started to print. 

This is a Pro-10 Version 18 (605).

Two weeks later. Did it again but this isn’t working now.

Hey there - Just got the B200 totally out of nowhere. Tried all versions of the solutions listed. Power off press white and yellow button, power off press just white button, power off for two hours and then tried both again. All my inks are Canon bought direct from B&H. Tried re-seating the cartridges, but no avail.  Anyone have any other suggestions??

Thank you for posting this.  I tried this solution, together with the "don't press paper feed" variant, but to no avail.  Tried unplugging, re-plugging, turning it on while standing on one foot.  I called the company and they said "it's dead - but we have a deal on a new model for only $764".  They also said, "no, putting an aftermarket cartridge into the machine wouldn't cause this."

So, I researched other possible solutions and decided to try the "take the print head out and clean it thoroughly" route.  As I was taking the print head out, I was reminded that there was ONE aftermarket ink tank in the machine.  It went in several days ago...right before the B200 error appeared.  On a lark, I pulled out that tank and swapped in a Canon tank.  Guess what?  The B200 error mysteriously vanished!  Of course, the machine then punished me by declaring that three relatively new Canon tanks were suddenly empty, but it immediately returned to normal printer operation. 

That was my experience. Your mileage may vary, so draw your own conclusions...but I am disappointed... 😎.

But this **bleep** “lock up” doesn’t even let me access the ink tanks. I think they are all Canon anyway. But I wanted to check.

This worked for me several times, but no longer does.  I suspect I could get it working if I could manually move the carriage to the center.  I can’t and Canon will not tell me how to get it to move other than rebooting (which isn’t working).  Also they don’t repair them.  They just want you to buy a new one with a 10% discount.

I should add that it said an ink was out after it moved to the right.  The main reason I want to manually move it is to replace that cartridge and see if I can get it to work.
