PIXMA iP2600 won't print, Ink absorber is full error

When I try to print, I get the message: "Ink absorber is full. Contact service center." How do I empty the ink?? Or is this printer dead?

You can possibly reset the error:

To clear the "Ink absorber is full" error on a PIXMA iP2600, turn the printer off, press and hold the Resume button while turning it on, then release the Resume button, press it four times, press the Power button to confirm, and finally power-cycle the printer.

I tried it several times, but no luck. Thanks for trying to help!

Greetings,

Release date 2008.

This is a 18 year old printer.  It's time for a new one.

It is time for a new one, I have to agree with that conclusion. I suggest the Pixma TS6520, with LCD display can be had for around 80 dollars,  I estimate that is about about half the price of a service fee.
