Issue with Paper Types Mismatch on Canon PRO-1100 Printer Display and Media Configuration Tool

Hello,

I recently purchased a Canon PRO-1100 photo printer and successfully installed all the drivers. The printer is functioning well overall, but I'm facing an issue with the paper types displayed.

The list of paper types shown on the printer's display does not match the list in the Media Configuration Tool on my computer. Specifically, there are around seven types of paper that are visible in the Media Configuration Tool but do not appear on the printer's display, even though the tool shows that these paper types are registered in the printer.

Could you please assist me in resolving this issue? Why are the paper types not appearing on the printer’s display, despite being shown as registered in the tool?

Thank you in advance for your help!

Have you downloaded and installed the other software from Canon's site? One of them is the Media Configuration tool that is used to create your media types. Sometimes overlooked is the function to sync those media types with the printer and driver.

Yes, I use this Media Configuration tool. Although the selected papers do not appear on the printer display, the tool's software, as shown in the screenshots, shows the papers are already saved in the printer. I included all the selected papers, but after the update, I still cannot see or utilize them on the printer.

Two thoughts:

1) I imagine you have referenced this document: https://ij.manual.canon/ij/webmanual/MediaConfigurationTool/M/1.1/EN/MCT/tp191511.html

2) Have you, by chance, disabled the setting in the printer to coincide with the print driver (like me)? In so doing, I do not make the media choices at the printer, but only on the computer. Pro and con on either choice but for me it simplifies printing.

Thank you for replying. Please let me know where in the printer's menu I can disable this.

Note that my experience is with the Pro 1000. Nuances may exist with the 1100, but should be similar.

Reference the online manual to this page: https://ij.manual.canon/ij/webmanual/Manual/All/PRO-1000%20series/EN/UG/ug_changing_settings5300.htm...

Thank you for your time and help; I will try
