Cannon pixma pro 100 8 blinking lights right out of the box

Hello Canon community 

I bought the above printer and haven't printed a single  photo and the eight flashes leads me to this

Support Code=1700
Number of flashes = Eight flashes
Ink absorber is almost full.

I don't know how it can be as it is brand new,

Any thoughts,

First, verify that all tape and orange items are removed from printer.

When you have the 8 flashing lights press the Resume button and see what happens.

If no luck, then:

Unplug printer from wall.

Press power button

Re-plug printer into power outlet.

If still doesn't work take back to seller or call Canon support 1-800-OK-CANON.
