PIXMA TR8620A doesn't recognize 5 GHz Wi-Fi Connection

My new PIXMA TR8620A does not recognize the 5 GHz WiFi network.  We have two 5 G networks.  It does not detect either.  These networks are detected and used by lap top computers, smart TVs, and cell phones.  The signal strength is good.  Even with the printer within 10 feet or less of the 5 GHz router the printer doesn't list that network.   I have moved the Canon TR8620A around and it does not detect the 5 GHz WiFi networks.  It does detect and connect with our 2.4 GHz network.  I was careful about the setup and installation.  I installed and used the Canon app on my computer and should have the latest drivers.  Any ideas are welcome.  I like the printer/scanner and hope I can keep it it but need it on the 5 GHz WiFi network.  Thank you.

Thank you John for the quick reply.

For what is worth here on this forum, Canon would do better with potential customers if they made it very clear on the product description that this nice, new printer connects to ONLY 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi.  I'm not a tech wiz, but it seems to me that nearly every Wi-Fi capable device we have bought recently connects to both 2.4 and 5.0.

Don't assume. You have to look at the specs before buying.

Yes, of course.  Thank you for pointing that out.

One solution I have is t get a Wi-Fi to ethernet converter that will use the 5.0 GHz Wi-Fi, like the BrosTrend AC1200.
