PIXMA TR8520 Wireless will not connect to my Netgear Orbi 770 Tri-Band WiFi7 Mesh router

Printer is registered with Canon.  Serial No:  AFWV[xxxxx]

This router is backwards compatible to 2.4 Ghz, so there should be no problem connecting.  I have tried many times using Easy Wireless Connect and Manual Method following all of the troubleshooting steps recommended including reboot of router, etc.  The printer is showing that it recognizes the two new current WiFi networks (main and guest), it's showing two IP addresses associated with my network:  one is an IP address I don't recognize, so can only assume it was an IP address associated with my old router?  and the other IP address doesn't exactly match the IP address of the router (first digits are wrong).  Prior to the router change, there was no issue connecting PC's and Macbooks to the printer via my WiFi network and no issue using my iPhone and the Canon PRINT app to print/scan directly from my phone.  Can anyone offer advice on how to fix this connection?  I wish Canon had a technical support line without charging $20 per call.  I've been using this printer for 5 years consuming a lot of ink and it works great...a loyal Canon printer customer needing technical support.

Greetings,

The TR8520 supports 2.4 GHz wireless that uses WPA2 encryption.  It does not support 5G, 6G or WPA3 encryption.

Please login to the admin portal of your orbI 770 and perform/confirm the following.

Give the 2.4 GHz broadcast a unique SSID name.  Confirm that broadcast is using WPA2 encryption. Depending on the firmware, your router/mesh system may also have a WPA3/WPA2 setting for encryption which provides backwards compatibility.

If you want all of your broadcasts to use the same SSID name, you can temporarily disable the 5G and 6G broadcasts while making the connection to the 2.4 GHz broadcast, then re-enable them.  The "bandwidth steering" is not very reliable.  This means the router may try to point a device to an unsupported broadcast or to a broadcast that doesn't have the best performance, bandwidth or range. 

I also have a tri-band network.  I use unique names for each broadcast which allows me to control what devices connect to which network.

Thank you for the fast response, Rick.  Yes, encryption on this router is also backwards compatible:  WPA3/WPA2.  I will have to try your recommendation and will keep you posted.
