PIXMA TR8620a - will not connect to my computer to scan.

TR8620a, I am having trouble scanning to my computer a Microsoft surface pro on windows 10. When I try to scan to the computer i get a message to set the computer to scan. I have had this combination for over a year and this is the first time I have had this problem. Any suggestions?

Further information, I can print from my computer so there is a connection. I am connected using USB also.

Troubleshooting Scanning Issues with Pixma TR8620a

If you're encountering a message prompting you to set your computer for scanning with your Pixma TR8620a, follow these steps to resolve the issue.

Ensure IJ Network Scanner Selector EX is Running

  1. Check if the application is active: Look for the IJ Network Scanner Selector EX icon in the notification area of your desktop.
  2. Start the application if not running:
    • Go to the Start menu.
    • Navigate to All apps > Canon Utilities > IJ Network Scanner Selector EX2.
    • If you can't find it, use the search function to locate it.

Select the Correct Scanner

  • Open the IJ Scan Utility.
  • Ensure that your Pixma TR8620a is selected as the scanner:
    • Click on Settings in the IJ Scan Utility.
    • Choose your printer from the list of available devices.
