Cannot Connect PIXMA TS5120 to Wi-Fi

In recently change my WiFi router and I no longer able to connect to my TS5120 printer to the WiFi network. When I tried to set up WiFi connection in the printer again with my Windows10 PC and iPhone, I kept getting the support code 3441. Could anyone please give me some advice?

Hi! Thanks for posting in the Canon Community Forum. I see that you need help connecting your PIXMA TS5120 to a new network after you installed a new router.

The 3441 error that you are getting indicates that the Easy-Wireless Connect setup did not work. For that reason, I recommend using the Manual Connect setup method. You’ll find instructions in the following website:

https://support.usa.canon.com/kb/index?page=content&id=ART169803

I hope this information helps. Thanks again.

I have the same problem and nothing would fix. I am changing printers and be sure, it won’t be Canon. I spent 2 days trying to resolve and Canon was impossible to get to someone in customer support.

Did some research and got ahold of a Canon help desk person (Shout out Buzz) he said the issue was likely from WIFI with WPA 3 security protocol that these older printers cannot connect to. He recommended calling your internet provider and changing to WPA 2 protocol.

Did Canon indicate if there was an update to the printer to support the new Wi-Fi protocols?

Hello.

Thanks for your question! WPA3 is only supported on WiFi 6, which requires hardware that this unit doesn't have. This printer is fully compatible with WPA2 and AirPrint.

Nothing like building something incapable of upgrade. Guess that's why they call them disposable. It's a shame that we are forced to buy new simply because you can't keep up with technology.

Hi.

This printer was released in 2017 (almost 8 years ago). The WiFi radio inside can't see WiFi 6.

WiFi 6 hit the market in 2019 and utilizes a different hardware radio for WiFi.

You can only connect to a WiFi 6 network with gear designed for WiFi 6 (newer than 2019). If your current upgraded network setup requires an upgraded printer, our Canon Upgrade Program specialists can help you find a compatible printer with your new network. They're at 866-443-8002, weekdays from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. (ET).
