LCD screen went white and wont work

I took about 8 pictures and the LCD screen went white and will not work

When I plug the camera to the computer the window does not open to allow me to down load pictures. It has always worked in the past. A570 IS  is the camera.  I also tried to insert the disc and it does notopen the window either.

My question is simple.My User guide is in spanish. How do I get it in English & how to charge batter
