how do I use my win8 computer when the book(camera) talks about win7.?

Ijust got a canon powershot A 4000IS for Christmas, and was looking at the instruction book and they said it would work on win7 when you use the disc. my computer is 1-2 months old and does not have a cd drive what am I supposed to do ?
