How do I burn video taken w/ Canon SX170 is DVD. Do I need a "conversion" program for the "RAW" imag

I am unable to burn the video taken with my SX170is camera to DVD.  I am told that I need to convert the "raw" format before I can burn.  What do I need, and where can I get it?
