PowerShot D20 E32 error

I am getting an annoying E32 error and shut downs all the time with a fairly new PowerShot D20. What is the code and what is the solution/fix?

E32 I think is a lens error...if it's new I would return it since tampering with it may void warranty, I'll stand to be corrected of course.

Lens error makes some sense, however this is a waterproof cameral with slight zoom (all internal). I will send it back for replacement.
