I have a Ps SX160IS and each time I power it up now it asks me to set the date and time.
I have followed the instructions explicityly to install a new CR1220 battery, however it still continues to ask for the date and time when I power it up.
Is there a reset for this or a BIOS update for this camera that resolves this?
I am a real estate agent and rely on the date stamping.

Hi there,
If replacing the button cell battery still doesn't allow the camera to maintain the date and time information then it sounds like either the button cell battery port might be damaged by corrosion or there may be a dead capacitor in the camera. Typically this would require repair but due to teh age of this camera replacement is probably a more economical route. The Canon Upgrade Program would likely afford you an added discount on a replacement as well. They can be reached weekdays and Saturdays from 11am-8pm EST at (800)385-2155.
