Battery icon missing from Canon powershot SD800

My battery icon isnt showing up on my display screen on my Powershot SD800 IS. Ive tried looking through the menu to see if i could edit my display but nothing so far. Any help appreciated.

It would appear, looking at the Advanced User Guide, that the battery indicator only appears when it is low.
