I have the Power Shot SX 130. The lens is open and when I press the button to retract it a green light flashes. Then I get a message saying lens erroe will shut down automatically restart camera. What do I need to do?

There may be a problem wit the lens. Has the camera been in a dusty or sandy environment? If so, there could be a buildup around the lens barrel that needs to be cleaned. If not, you may need to contact Canon, but since that camera is more than 5 years old, the cost to repair it will be more than the camera is worth. If you search the Internet for cleaning camera lens barrels you should be able to find a video to give you some ideas on inexpensive ways to clean around the lens barrel.

Did you ump the lens so that it is crooked with respect to camera body?
I had that happen on two cameras and a gentle push in the opposite direction snapped it back in place and camera was fine after that.
