Model #29406XXXX <serial number hidden for privacy> Canon EOS Rebel XS. It runs but will not take photos on any setting, not just auto. Just a flashing flashing green light when shutter button is depressed. Any suggestions. It is an older model.

that flashing green light you see in the viewfinder means it’s not focus locked. either there’s not much light falling on the scene (or target) or you’re pretty close to the target. try getting some light on the subject or back up a bit and re-focus. another tip is focus on something with an edge or contrast. you achieve focus lock if that green light turns solid. hope that helps.
