Hi, today I received my Canon EOS R100 (so it’s brand new). I used it for a few minutes right after opening it, and while I was sending photos to my phone through the camera app, it suddenly turned off.
Even though I charged the battery for hours and tried every button combination I found online, the camera won’t turn on.
The only sign of life I sometimes get is the small red light near the screen that briefly flashes when I reinsert the battery, but the screen stays completely black.
I’ve tried removing and reattaching the lens, taking out the SD card, and everything else, but nothing works.
Please give me some advice because I can’t return it or get a refund.

@annanas104 why can't you return it? If you got it from a Canon Authorized Dealer they will accept returns, exchanges and refunds. How long did you charge the battery for before using it.

2 hours charging is enough?

because the charges says that is full charged by the green light

Will the camera work with the SD Card removed? What kind of SD Card are you using? Is it a full sized SD Card or a Micro SD Card in an adapter? Avoid Micro SD Cards in an adapter those cause all sorts of problems. Your camera wasn't designed for those.

Thank you for your answer.
The camera doesn't turn on either with the sd on or without, its a compact one SP SDXC 64GB.
but i dont know why sometimes turns on the small red litght and sometimes no.

@annanas104 do you have another battery to test out in the camera?

unfortunately no, but this battery is brand new, original, and the charger says that is fully charged...

annanas104,
Does your camera have a Disp button? If it does, try hitting that a couple of times. If you get a quick little red light, your screen might be black, but your camera might be on.
If you hit the shutter button, does your camera make a sound like it's taking a picture?
