I'm trying to scan to a usb drive but there is an error popping up saying "connect the usb memory" I even bought a new usb thinking that was the problem but the error still shows up.
This is a new problem, i have been scanning to the usb for months, up until a few weeks ago when it stopped working.

Greetings,
What file format is the USB stick you are using?
Are you using a PC or MAC. I've used FAT16/32 and NTFS successfully. The manual states FAT file system, but NTFS works as well.
I used my NTFS formatted USB stick on my MF 656 Friday.

Hello,
Other than checking the format of the card using the information in the post below, you can also try reformatting the memory card to see if it is detected. If multiple memory cards are not being detected, I suggest contacting support over the phone at 1-800-652-2666. They can check the printer hardware to see what is causing the detection issue and provide any service options.
