I have an MFC642. I'm trying to update the firmware. When I put in the required serial number, 2LQ2[xxxx], it is being rejected. I'm reading the number on the label in the rear. It is the same number I used when I first registered the printer.

If the serial number on the back of the printer did not work with the firmware update, you can try viewing the device information to check if the serial number matches or if the other one was incorrect. Press the Status Monitor button and then select Device Information.
