I have a Canon Image class D 570. When I use preview the scanner works fine. If I then select "scan" I get two vertical red lines on the scan, the left hand side is pink. I can avoid this if I use "save" after preview, but I don't like that.
Picture below.
Any help would be greatly appreciated

Hello,
It looks like the scanner needs service. It looks like the scanner bar under the glass is damaged or needs to be calibrated. In this situation, I would suggest contacting support at 1-800-652-2666 or logging into you MyCanon account to check your service options.

Thank you I will check. But it is only 6 months old and used in a private home, so needing service seems a bit much

Calling did not help. After about 25 minutes I was told it is all via the web.
Any idea how long the warranty is?

Your imageCLASS D570 is covered by a 1-year warranty. You can find the complete text of the warranty HERE and if your printer should end up needing to be serviced under that warranty, calling our support line is the fastest way to get everything set up.
Hope this helps!

Calling the canon support line or trying to get help from the canon website is a nightmare. Horrendous. Terrible. Pathetic.

Calling your support line gets me a computer.
Emailing your support gets me ignored.
Guess which company will probably never get my business again? At least we have switched to Nikon Cameras already!

Really is a piece of rubbish. And Cannon support is among the worst I have ever experienced! If you can call zero help as among the worst, not the worst.
