Rena, it means the paper size set on your printer isn't matching the size set in the program you're trying to print with. An example: you have 5x7 in the printer setting and a printing to 8x10.

OMG! Thank you so much, I can't imagine how it got changed, but you are the only answer I've gotten anywhere. Scoured the internet, nothing, I can't thank you enough. This is my favorite printer, old and I still use it all of the time. I thought I had lost my favorite office tool. Thank you thank you!!!

Am glad I had the answer for you. I'm new to canon lasers and am still learning. Am kind of surprised at Canons attitude that since the printer is "retired," they no longer have the curtesy to answer a simple question!!! Makes me question my purchase of their products!

Hi, cyberwasp! I'm not tech support. I'm a moderator. I was simply informing rena that her unit is retired. After a period of time (usually about 10 years or so) files for retired units are removed from the site, and our tech support folks no longer have access to internal support documents.

My apologies, I should have realized you weren't a tech. I recently went through a similar issue with HP for them to tell me my printer has past warranty and would not help.

I just did a meta search for the issue she was having and found it. Again. am truly sorry!!!

No, don't worry! I just didn't want you to have a bad taste in your mouth! 😊
