Cartridge recognition error on Canon PIXMA G6020

My printer often flash error warning or refuse to print after installation a fresh ink cartridge

Are you sure your printer is a PIXMA G6020?  That printer uses built-in refillable ink tanks instead of ink cartridges.  If you could clear that up, that would really help everyone out.
