MF733Cdw can't scan images to USB device via automatic document feeder at 600 dpi

By using the touchscreen on the MF733Cdw to scan images to USB device in JPEG format via the automatic document feeder, images are scanned at 300 dpi only. How do I scan images to USB device in JPEG format via the automatic document feeder at 600 dpi? I don't see any option on the touchscreen to select 600 dpi. Thank you in advance for any help.

Hello allison,

I understand you have a question about scanning images to a USB device using the touchscreen in your Color imageCLASS MF733Cdw.

You can select the image quality for the scan depending on the original type, such as text-only originals, originals with charts and graphs, or magazine photos.  Selecting Photo for the Original Type will increase your scanning resolution.  Using your MF733Cdw touch screen, follow the process below to increase your scanning resolution:

<Scan> -> <USB Memory> -> <Original Type> -> Photo

Now, when you scan to a USB device, you will scan at the maximum resolution.

Keep in mind, when you scan using the MF Scan Utility scanning software, you are able to make more adjustments to the scanner settings.  The default settings, for the document feeder is limited to 300 dpi while you can select 600 dpi when the Platen Glass is selected for the Scanning Method.  However, if you select ScanGear in the MF Scan Utility, then click on the Advance Mode tab, you can enter 600 dpi for Output Resolution in the Output Settings section when using the document feeder.  Please note when you select the document feeder as the Original Scan Method, 300 dpi will still be the maximum selectable dpi, you will have to manually enter the higher resolution and press Enter for the settings to take effect.
