After scanning via e-mail, Canon MF463dw printer won't print from MacOS

Hi there.

I have an issue with our Canon MF463dw device (latest firmware) with one of my client.

Casually if they print with IP and with the latest Canon installed drivers (UFR II/UFRII LT Printer Driver & Utilities for Mac V10.19.20 [macOS 10.14.6 - macOS 15.2]), with the latest MacOS version (macos 15.3.1 Sequoia) everything is fine and working.

The scan via email function is working too and sending the file in the mail inbox. There is no error.

But when they want to print again after the scan the printer and the MacOS printer spooler also show a similar error:

On the printer: "Waiting (file name)..." and nothing happen.

MacOS printer spooler: "Waiting for printer to process the job" or something like that, and nothing happen.

After we restart the printer it is printing again, like nothing happened.

  • The printed files are not large max. 2 MB (PDF invoices)
  • The network is good, the canon device is connected with lan-cable (the macbook connected with wifi)
  • We tested with the same files. First it is printing but after the scan via email function it is not printing
  • We printing it from Google Chrome
  • There is no error in the machine's local IP's platform only the 852 and the 099 error message, which is basically saying that the job is  cancelled due to an unexpected shutdown
Cause
An error occurred because the main power was turned OFF due to an unspecified cause while a job was being processed.
  • The error is happening with different Macbooks as well
  • I tried to use different drivers as well. Both AirPrint and the latest driver from Canon with IP. It is the same error.
  • Also used PS but has the same error message
  • Only the scan from email function frooze the spool, but if I try with the built in macos scan software it is working well
  • I already reset the canon machine once

I am currently jumped in the Mac world a couple of months ago, I was handling Windows devices so might be some really obvious Mac-hack, but cannot find a solution for this one. Any ideas?

Update: scanning from the built in MacOS software also cause this error. So it is not because of the email scanning

Greetings,

I see you have a static IP address set on the printer.  Did you reserve this IP address on your router? Or just took what the router assigned it and tried to make it static by disabling DHCP on the printer?

Please ensure you answer the question above accurately.

Is the printer installed on the Mac as an IP printer and using 192.168.48.2?

After scanning, are you able to ping the printer's IP address.  Does it reply?

Greetings,

the DHCP pool starting from 192.168.48.100 - 199 and this static IP address is just for the machine.

I also tested this by turning it off and on the printer while pinging and of course there was no ping response until I turned it on.

Is the printer installed on the Mac as an IP printer and using 192.168.48.2?   - Currently yes

After scanning, are you able to ping the printer's IP address.  Does it reply? - Yes
