EOS Webcam Utility Pro Sequoia Update not working

Saintinhell
Apprentice

I have installed the most recent version of EOS Webcam Utility Pro (2.2.24.1031); however, my camera continues to experience difficulties connecting to the software. The model of the camera in use is the EOS Rebel T6, which is connected to my MacBook Pro operating on macOS Sequoia 15.0.1 and equipped with the Apple M1 Pro chip.

Is anyone else experiencing a similar issue?

Hi Saintinhell,

I'm sorry to hear your EOS Rebel T6 and the EOS Webcam Utility. To trouble shoot the issue we would need a little bit more information. What is happening when you try to use the EOS Webcam Utility? Are any error messages showing on the camera or computer, and if there is an error message what does it say word for word?

There are a couple of general things to check if your camera isn't getting detect. The first is to make sure the wifi is disabled on your camera. When wifi is enabled on the EOS Rebel T6 it disables the USB port. To check that press the Menu button on the camera, go to the third yellow wrench tab, and make sure Wi-Fi/NFC is set to Disable. Once you've done that check to see if the same thing is happening.

Another thing to check would be to try a different USB cable. Sometimes if the cable has degraded it can cause communication issues. When you try a different cable it would be good to try a different port on the computer as well. If you need a new USB cable the EOS Rebel T6 uses a Mini-B to Type-A type USB cable. That is a standardized cable type that should be available in most electronics stores and online retailers.

I am not receiving any error messages on either the camera or the computer; however, the EOS Webcam Utility software only displays a blank screen instead of the camera feed.

I have ensured that the Wi-Fi on my camera is disabled and confirmed that the camera has the latest firmware installed. I should also mention that my camera only stopped working after I updated my OS.

Additionally, I have tried using a different Mini-B to Type-A USB cable, but the issue persists with the same result.

Same problem for me as well.

Please verify you're using the most current version of the EOS Webcam Utility Pro from here: https://canon.us/ewu

Didn’t know there was a 2.2.24 update. The changelog only goes up to 2.2.22. Can confirm that 2.2.24 works

current version still not working with M200

Hello greenteagod,

Canon released a version 2.3 on 11/12 for the Sequoia operating system. Please make sure that you are using that. You can download that software version HERE.

Yes I'm on 2.3.15 and it does not work. I can use the camera tools and access it as a camera but the webcam functionality is not there.

Went through the process of rolling back to Sonoma and back to webcam utility 1.3.16 and everything is working fine again.
