My canon EOS 500D/Rebel T1i doesn’t work

So what happened was that my Canon EOS 500D/ Rebel T1i was doing fine until it stopped working. I tried recharging the battery and closing in the gates for the SD card and the battery but it still doesn’t work. How do I fix it.
