I can't upload my photos from my Digital EOS Rebel XTi...
Is the EOS utility software required? If so, what model would it go under (it's an old enough camera that it doesn't have an app for it)?
I have the USB connected (mini USB type B) to my PC and to the camera, but it isn't showing up in my drives in File Explorer.

Greetings vortex915,
Canon USA used to offer software for the EOS Rebel XTi camera, but it was for older operating systems where the software is no longer supported for newer operating systems and no longer available for download.
In case the computer is not recognizing the camera, then please test a different USB cable along with connecting the cable to a different USB port on the computer. If using a USB hub, then please connect the USB cable directly to the computer or unplug the other devices from the hub. If possible, please test to see if a different computer is able to recognize the camera.
If the computer is still unable to recognize the camera, then the issue may be with a malfunctioning USB port on the camera. You may download images to your computer by using a memory card reader that is connected to your computer where you would remove the memory card from the camera and insert it into the card reader.

You can try switching the camera from PTP to PC communication mode.
But I suggest a card reader, either SD or CF as appropriate. (I am too lazy to look it up)

As others have said, the solution is a card reader. They are cheap and quick to use.

I ordered an adapter a couple of days ago.
It turns out the installer I had was on a disk, however, I couldn't find it.
Thank you for the support!
