My canon rebel xt is clicking and wont flash

I have a Rebel XT. I know its old but I love this camera! It gives me an error 5 even if my flash is up. HELP

I also have a Rebel XT and my flash also just quit working. I have tried several settings but the flash won't even pop up.  The camera seems to work ok but in low light it just slows down the shutter speed instead of using the flash.  What am I missing?

I have the same problem with my T2i 😞 I tried to contact the customer service but they just told me to send them the camera so they can repair it, which I don't want to do 😞

Hi Litelady,

Unfortunately, the clicking sound means that the flash for your camera is stuck in the down position and will require repair.  You may set up the repair here.
