Link my EOS 80D to an iPad Air via USB?

I would like to download pictures from my 80D to my iPad with the USB cable, if possible. Is this doable? The manual gives directions on installing the “proper “ software, but is obviously outdated. I tried anyway, the newest version is dated 2023 but I couldn’t open it after downloading to my iPad.

Is your iPad Air Lightning connector or USB C?

Apple has adapters that allow connecting a camera to an iPad with a Lightning connector; you would power the adapter with a Lightning cable.

If the iPad is USB-C you can direct-connect.

You would see your photo device showing up when you open the Photos app.

lol! I’ve been trying to do this for two days now! I read your reply, linked up my tablet to the camera, turned the camera on, went to photos, there they were. I have no idea what I was doing wrong before, but it is working now, thank you for your quick and accurate response to my dilemma!
