Hi there,
I put a lense on my camera then took it off and put the original lense back on then all of a sudden the picture became very blurry. I didn’t change anything from when it previously was working. AF is on and when I tap the shutter to focus it does nothing. Please help! I just bought this camera.

Without being able to physically see the lens my suspicion is that the lens is damaged. Do you have a camera store nearby?

Thanks John, I found the link from your post and have made a copy of it for future reference. Frankly, I think there should be a warning about this in the manual, or better still, as a slip of paper attached to the lens. I referred to the manual of the T7 and there are safety advisories but not on this subject! Of course, that only works is someone actually refers to their manual - which seems to be unheard-of these days:☹️ hence the piece of paper...

Is LiveView blurry, or just the view through the viewfinder? Could you have bumped the diopter setting on the viewfinder?

Live view is blurry but the focus points are clear and so are the settings in live view. The diopter is set right where it should be.

"Could you have bumped the diopter setting on the viewfinder?"
That would have no effect on the pictures.

I think the OP is using “pictures” meaning what he looks at through the viewfinder. I base that on his statement that when he actuates the shutter nothing happens. Shutter won’t fire if focus isn’t achieved.

The diopter is set correctly. Unfortunately that’s not the problem.

Exactly what model of 18-55 lens are you using? Is it the 18-55 1:3.5-5.6 II lens (see the front of the lens for this).
If it is, have you manually focused the lens -
and if you did was the AF/MF button turned off at the time?

My lens says EFS 18-55mm, Macro 0.25m/0.8ft. Hopefully that’s the information your asking for, apologies I’m very new at this. I tried to Manual focus on MF and separately tried to use auto focus AF by pushing halfway down on the shutter but it’s completely blurry, in both viewfinder, love view and after a picture is taken

"I put a lense on my camera then took it off ..." Was this a different lens? "... put the original lense back on ..."
It sounds like it. The camera must have worked.
"I didn’t change anything from when it previously was working."
The OP indicated it did work at one time? If the OP is screwing an add-on lens attachment that could be the reason and mostly like is.
