Canon r7 new - 1st month.
Screen stuck at searching for access point
Tried resetting network settings + erase saved devices and reinstalling app.
Please help

Hi Aadil,
It would help to get a few more details.
To what device are you trying to connect the EOS R7? If it is a smartphone, please describe the model and what version of iOS and Android it is running.
Are you using our Camera Connect app or something else to set up the connection?

Tried to connect to both phone(one plus 10) android 14 via camera connect(canon app) and laptop(windows 10) via canon EOS utility app.
Tried forgetting network settings even tried resetting the whole camera to factory settings and reinstalling canon apps on both android and windows.. none worked.
Recently updated Eos software to 1.6. I'm not sure if that caused the issues I'm facing

Thank you for providing us with the additional information. When setting up the wireless connection to either a mobile device or to your computer, let's choose the option for the camera to provide its own access point. This would allow the camera to broadcast its own signal for the phone or the laptop to connect to. The following link will provide us with information on using this function instead of having the camera connect to a local wireless router:

Please also check to see if the camera is running on the latest firmware version. The following link will open the product support page for the EOS R7 camera where you are able to download the latest firmware. Step by step instructions are included in the download file for how to update the camera's firmware:

After updating the firmware, please proceed with resetting the camera along with resetting the camera's Wi-Fi function, and then checking to see if you are able to establish a wireless connection between the camera and your phone or computer.

As soon as I Click "do not display" icon after trying to connect for phone it automatically tries to find access point and doesn't give the option of switch network!!

It seems like the camera is stuck on a certain step of the wireless setup process which prevents us from having it continue on to the next step as it should. The next step is to suggest on sending the EOS R7 camera to our facility for a technician to evaluate it.
Items purchased directly from Canon USA or from an Authorized Canon Dealer do include a one-year warranty if the item was purchased less than a year ago. You may view a list of Authorized Canon Dealers by clicking on the following link. I would recommend including a copy of your Proof of Purchase when sending in your item for the facility to review for any in-warranty service or repair.

Canon U.S.A., Inc. has created a new online repair portal that allows you to set up service in a few simple steps. The repair portal gives you the ability to set up service for multiple pieces of equipment at once, and to receive a repair estimate in the majority of cases, depending on your model and issue. You will need to access or create your My Canon Account.
