If you buy an EOS R5 Mark II and the camera will not transfer pictures to your computer, don't do what I did. I tried using my R5 cable and it did not transfer the pictures, Both cables worked on the R5 so i sent the camera back. Got it back and it still did not transfer pictures. This is after i uploaded the latest EOS Utility software. I decided to try my phone charging cable. It worked very well. SO my advice is to use a phone charging cable, if you experience any transfer issues. I do not know what's wrong with the cables that Canon provides

I don't do USB transfers, but occasionally do remote shooting. The cable for my R5 II was still in the box so I broke it out, hooked it up to a USB C port on my Windows 11 laptop, and EOSU started automatically. I made a download directory, pointed EOSU to it, selected card 1, and it downloaded just fine. I then, just for the heck of it, took some remote shots and that worked fine as well.
I'm not sure why your cable isn't working, I can just say that mine works fine. Sorry 😣

My camera was sent back and Canon said it was ok. My r5 cable and r5ii cable still did not work after i received the camera. Canon sent me a new USB type C cable and that did not recognize n=my camera on 2 PC's and 1 macbook pro. I am using an apple charging cable now and this cable recognizes my r5 mkii on all 3 platforms. What is wrong with my camera that it doesn't like the cables? BTW, my R5 uploads my pics using any of the 4 cables.
