Canon CameraWindow DC-8 Not Detecting PowerShot SX60 HS & SX720 HS on Windows 10/11 – Compatibility

anon Camera Window DC-8 software

When I use this software to transfer pictures from my cameras to my computers it gives me this error message. “The connected camera is not supported by this software.” Is there a newer version of this software or are there other software programs that I could use to transfer my pictures to my computers? Or, Is this a driver problem?

My camera models are Power Shot SX60 HS and Power Shot SX720HS.

I have three computers. Two of them have Windows 10 and the newest one has Windows 11. This software still works very well with the oldest computer. The SX60, still works with the middle age Windows 10 computer but the SX720 does not. Neither of them works with the Windows 11 computer.

Greetings,

The last version of CameraWindow was released approximately 9 years ago.  One of your cameras was released 11 years ago on the other 10 yrs ago.  The software and these items have been retired.  Microsoft has also started deprecating support for older hardware in their newer operating systems.  Unfortunately device detection and the software no longer work reliably with more modern operating systems.  Since you do not need software to download images from your camera(s), a good alternative would be a card reader.  These are inexpensive, faster and very reliable.
