I recently bought the R5 MK ii, and like time canon owner. I am disappointed how flaky the canon app is and how difficult it is to setup to work. The issues I see today with canon connect are the same issues I had with my 5dmk4 many years ago. Someone at canon should be working on a resolution to its loyal customers or, provide updated instructions to resolve. The users manual works great IF there are no issues.
In a nutshell, my camera connects via Bluetooth but will not connect to WIFI and stays in the infamous trying to connect loop. Time to return my camera and buy Nikon or fix this application issues. Enough is enough!!!!

That’s highly unusual because the 5D4 lacks Bluetooth and Wi-Fi. Do not expect the onboard Wi-Fi to function as fast as a laptop. It doesn’t.

Have to plead ignorance here but can you transfer with a USB cable? I find WiFi or a card reader to be a nuisance.
Info: Canon T7 and Lenova laptop with W11.

I'm having the same issue. My 5d Mark IV and my 90d will connect to my wifi just fine, transfer photos to my PC just fine with the EOS Utility. My R5 Mark II will not establish or keep a stable connection to my wifi. IF I get it connected it will only transfer about 20-30 photos then it disconnects, and I have to start all over. I've tried every setting under the sun in the camera. This shouldn't be this hard.

I am having the same issue as you are with Canon R5 mk ii. My Canon R6 mkii - the wifi / bluetooth transfer is a joy to work with. The Canon R5 mkii wont connect, and when it does, it uploads 3/4 images and drops the signal, and getting it rejoin after that is a nightmare. The cable is outrageously expensive!

I have the same problem trying to keep a wi-fi connection between my R5 Mark II and Camera Connect on my iPhone so that I can quickly share pictures with clients on location. Unbelievably frustrating.

I have literally given up on it. I now have the painful task of dragging my MacBook with me in the field because it just doesnt work. I just find theres no excuse for it - the same set up in my R6 mkii works like a dream. I am finding so many faults with this camera, I dont know if they rushed production before actually checking everything properly. My new issue - suddenly it's eating my batteries. My batteries are 6 months old and nothing has changed, the one battery lasts me an hour if Im lucky, and my shoots are approximately 4 hours. It used to last me the day. For batteries that are so pricey, surely they should last longer than 6 months!!
