EOS 800D S-RAW files won't work with Adobe Lightroom denoise feature

Some RAW files from my EOS 800 don't work with Lightroom Classic denoise feature.  What I found in Lightroom is that denoise doesn't work with Canon S-RAW file types.  Here's the adobe website.

https://helpx.adobe.com/lightroom-classic/help/enhance-details.html

Unsupported file formats for Raw Details

Raw Details does not apply to the following types of source images:

  • Non-raw files such as a JPEGs, TIFFs, and HEICs
  • Apple ProRaw DNGs
  • Linear DNGs (including HDR and pano DNG images previously created inside Lightroom and Camera Raw)
  • DNG proxies and Smart Previews
  • Monochrome raw files (such as Leica M MONOCHROM)
  • Four-color cameras
  • Foveon sensor images
  • Fujifilm cameras with SR, EXR, or 2x4 mosaic sensors.
  • Canon S-RAW/M-RAW files
  • Nikon small raw files

I had to go to Rawdigger to find out the files were S-RAW.  Where does this get set in the menus?  Mosaic Data shows as YES when I check the metadata on the DNG file.

Image quality was set to RAW.  Here's another reference I used to try to figure this out:  https://community.adobe.com/t5/lightroom-classic-discussions/denoise-ai-not-working-with-my-cr2-file...

Thanks for anyone's help.

I uninstalled and reinstalled Lightroom, and I can now use the denoise feature.  Thanks to everyone who took the time to look at this.  Not my idea of how to solve things, and no explanation for what exactly went wrong with Lightroom, but that part is done.

Thanks for looking - this has become extraordinarily frustrating since I can't figure out which side the issue is on - Canon or Adobe.

At this point in time, I would say Adobe. This camera has been around a while, so Adobe should be able to fully use the CR2 it produces by now, if it's up to date. However, I know Canon changed something in the CR2 format for the T7i/800D because my wife bought it in 2017 and I had to download a codec pack to get Windows 10 to view the Raw thumbnails in file explorer. They worked fine in DPP 4, but I always keep it updated anyway. At that time, I was using a 7D mark II and 5D mark IV, which both produced CR2 files, and Windows could view both of the Raw files from those, but not the ones from the T7i/800D. The codec pack worked great and integrated into file explorer so I could preview the Raw CR2's from the T7i and later on, the newer CR3's.

I have downloaded the file you provided. I am using the latest version of Lightroom and if I import your .CR2 image it shows as 4000 x 6000 pixels - so definitely full resolution not sRAW, and more importantly I can use the Denoise function just perfectly.

I am using Lightroom Classic 13.1 with Adobe Camera RAW 16.1 on a Mac.

Thank you very much - I think this points so something with my Adobe setup.  Time to see what I can get from Adobe - the Canon community response has been outstanding.

Same result as Brian using a Windows PC.
