Can't set multi-function button to use selective focus on 1dx Mark III

Tried going into the AF4 menu to set the M-Fn button for AF area.  Won't accept it, and still stuck with the dial.  Suggestions?

Did you press "Set" after you dialed down to the option?

Hi there,

On this camera you would typically have to press the AF Area button first (the button on the back of the camera, top right corner) and then the M.fn button would cycle through the options. Is that not happening with your camera? I'm referencing the info on page 326 down below for this.

If I am understanding the OP's problem correctly he is saying that in this menus option he can't change from dial to M.Fn button.
