EOS 90D AF method selection button stopped working

Have an odd issue. The AF area method button between the shutter and the main dial on my 90D just stopped working. I have no idea why. It worked last night and today i went out with the 90D and it isn't working at all.

Any ideas?

A button is an electromechanical device. It can fail electrically or mechanically. Dirt or water can get into it. Does it matter why? 

If it's under warranty, get it fixed. If not, find out what it would cost to fix and go from there.
