What’s going on with the RF 200-800 backorder

Estimated shipping date was Dec 14.  I ordered through Adorama, and they just say that they are backordered.  Seems to be the same story ordering direct from Canon and other sellers.  What is really going on here?

It's a fair enough question. I'm in the same boat and haven't seen any non-reviewer on any of the social media groups I am part of post that they have received their 200-800 preorder. Like with you, Canon USA customer support says they have no further information. Unfortunately, I used a virtual credit card to pay for my purchase set to expire 1/24, and customer service isn't able to update my order payment and I lose my place in line if I cancel and reorder as the only option they gave me, so I'm really hoping 1/24 means end of January and Canon ships by then.

Any updates on your order?  I have seen posts elsewhere from users who pre-ordered as you did.  They are receiving their lenses.

Yes, the 200-800.  ISO was 12800. Pretty low light. Used Denoise in LR

Hi. I ordered this lens, but through B&H. They also say on backorder but don’t give me an estimated date. Do we know when they will receive the lens’s so they can ship?  I just ordered on 2-9.  Thank you.
