Hello - my printer prints and copies fine, but when I try to scan to my pc, it just says processing and then returns to the main screen without any movement of the scanner.  I am using Windows 8.

I can copy documents but cannot scan to my desktop (Windows 10).

I have switched the scanner off and on and tried again with no result.

Hi, grandma6245!

You can download the drivers and apps for your PIXMA MX922 for free right HERE.  We hope this helps!

Thanks for choosing Canon!

My problem isn't that my MX922 won't scan -- the issue is that it doesn't do so in true color.

I used it to print a saved file of a dark-green sign; the print came out dark green, as it should have.

I then scanned that printout, and sent the file to my computer; for some reason, the green was noticeably lighter. Other colors in the sign were similarly muted. Scan resolution was at 300dpi.

I printed out this new image scanned from the first print. The second print was, again, a good deal lighter than the first.

To see if it was a printer/computer disagreement (I'd heard there may be some issues interfacing with Windows 10), I took the computer out of the loop entirely, and simply had the printer COPY the original printout, again at 300dpi. This time, the colors were noticeably DARKER than the original, to the point that the dark green was almost black.

Are you aware of any reports of the Canon MX922 not scanning in true color?

Hi Tundra,

In order to properly assist you, I will just need to know how your unit is being connected to your system.  USB or is it being connected Wireless?

Hi ScannerWontScan,

In order to better assist you, allow me to ask a couple questions:

  • Are you connecting wirelessly, or with USB?
  • Are you able to make a photocopy?
  • Which version of Windows or Macintosh are you using ?

I look forward to your reply.

Finally I found the solution. This printer only runs in 2.4GHZ and not in 5.0 GHZ from the router/modem, which usually are dual band. I called my service provider (AT&T) and they told me that in order for me to identify the 2.4GHZ from the 5GHZ they have to change the user name and the password, to identify each one, which they did.

These are the steps I did:

1- I deleted from my computers everything, drivers, the printer etc.

2- I deleted from the printer everything to factory reset

3- I disconnected from the power the printer for about 5 minutes

4- I restart the computer after deleted the drivers

5- I reconnected the printer to the power

6- Make sure the computer is connected to 2.4GHZ wifi

7- In the printer from menu look for setup, device settings, LAN settings, wireless LAN setup, click STOP button in the

printer, standart setup, look for the 2.4GHZ wifi and enter the password.

8- Download the drivers from www.canon.com to your computer

9- In the printer, Click Scan, Save/Forward/, OK and choose the computer

10- Start scanning

My suggestion is, if doesn't work. Repeat all over again, that for sure it will.

I spend my time doing this, in favor of the members that do the same for the rest of us. I tried my best for my english.

Merry Christmas to all of you !!!

Cesar

You should disclaim that this printers only run with 2.4GHZ

Hi LCaulkins,

Are you also using Windows 8?

Are you using your PIXMA MX922 with a USB cable or are you using your PIXMA MX922 wirelessly?
