My new iPad 4 doesn't recognize our PIXMA 892 as an Airprinter. It searches for a loooong time and then says it can't find an airprinter. The desktop runs on Windows Vista, and our ActionTec modem/wireless setup is plugged into the desktop. Is this an iOS/Windows incompatibility problem? What should I do?

Hi Lizg789,
As long as the printer is set up on your wireless network and your iPad is connected to the same wireless network as the printer, it should be able to print using Airprint. We have sometimes seen the Bluetooth on the iPad cause interference with the wireles, so I would like to try turning Bluetooth off on the iPad to see if this resolves he issue. To turn off Bluetooth, press Settings, and switch Bluetooth to Off, then try printing again.
