If my subject line here is vague and mysterious, it's because I can find zero common thread between these problems besides possibly demonic spirit possession.
I purchased a brand new Pixma after a month long battle with a used HP sent me to the computer guy to drop it off for recycling. I thought I was in the clear and I was dead wrong. Please help.
Here's a list of what I can remember happening:
1. Did not print multiple print jobs. Days later, in the middle of the night, the printer began printing those jobs.
2. On a multiple page job, stopped printing after a few pages. On the last page printed, only a few lines.
3. On an 8 page (4 sheet double sided job), only printed 3 sheets. Only printed pages 1, 3, 4, and 5.
4. On a single page JPG print, merely fed out a blank page. Did not try to apply ink (it just spit out the page in 2 seconds). Multiple attempts resulted in the same thing. Eventually, re-retrying the job resulted in nothing. Not a blank page, or any response from the printer at all. However, the Print Queue says "Printed"!
I have done nothing amiss to this printer. It's been sitting in a secure location since I unpacked and installed it brand spanking new from the retailer.
I'd say I'm at my wit's end, but I fear that my wit and divine patience will continue to be stretched beyond its limits with no tolerance for complaint.
What in the **** is going on here? I would like to chat with Support, but it's been hard for me to get on with them during their business hours. Is Canon Support helpful for matters like this anyway?
Please help.

Most if not all of these kinds of problems are generated by the operating system of the pc the printer is connected to. They can be wrong, mismatched settings, driver issues, conflicts with previous printer installs, the actual printer connection. I know my belief about printer connections my not be all that popular here, but I say it anyway, never use WIFI just because you can. If you don't have to use it, then wire your printer to your computer using a USB/Printer cable and always have one nearby to troubleshoot with even though you want to use WIFI.
Okay, now that I have posted my little rant, what is your printer connected to, Operating System and how is it connected? Once we know that we can get to the bottom of the cause of this list of goofs and help fix them.

I really appreciate your response. I currently don't have a USB cable to connect and try that but I'll pick one up and give it a go.
I'm using Windows 11 and connected via wifi.

I suggest you purchase a USB/Printer cable it will help troubleshoot many issues and is also helpful when connecting to WIFI. Thio is a video setup guide to connect the TR4720 to a WIFI network, the network has to have 2.4ghz signal and be of minimum signal strength to not spool and hold up print jobs for a long time before they print. I assume you set up your printer following these instructions or close to it.

I have a couple of questions, If you had a printer before this one did you uninstall it completely before installing the TR4720? Many times a former installation, even if just traces of it, remain in Windows they can cause problems.

I managed to connect with a printer cable. Paper would jane, but I didn't know a about the paper capacity of the printer. I do have a 5ghz router. So I didn't know that the router wasn't compatible. The driver for the prior printer was still installed, I didn't know that that could cause problems. I had some errors printing, and seemed to adjust the the paper, but new print requests wouldn't register in the queue. So the printer wouldn't continue to print. I tried resting the printer. I appreciate your help

I think its time to restart this process. Disconnect your printer from your pc, power the printer down unplug it from the wall for about a minute plug it back in and power it back up. This will clear the printer que from the printer. Remove all the paper except for one sheet and lets make sure the printer can print on its own. Print a nozzle check:
To check the nozzle function on your PIXMA TR4720 printer, follow these simple steps:
Load Paper
Place a sheet of A4 or Letter-sized plain paper in the front tray.
Access the Setup Menu
Select Nozzle Check
Print the Nozzle Check Pattern
Wait for the printer to complete the printing of the nozzle check pattern.
Examine the Output
After printing, check the nozzle pattern to determine if the ink is ejecting properly. If the pattern shows faint or missing lines, it may indicate a need for maintenance or ink cartridge replacement.
Let us know how that goes. If it prints and feeds the paper correctly and I see no reason it will not then you should uninstall the printer using step by step instructions that I will provide and then reinstall again. But lets not get ahead of ourselves yet, let us know how the nozzle check goes first.

You may be responding to the other "apprentice" poster in this thread, ephoenix6. They also responded, but in a way that seemed to imply that they were the OP. I do hope that they solve their problem too, but please know that there are now two posters in this thread that are/were seeking assistance.
I tried hooking up my printer with a cable, and did two trials: printing an image that wasn't printing before, and printing an HTML document that stopped before it was finished, and sometimes was coming out blank. Both of them completed successfully. I really value your help. The cord solved the problem.

WiFi has become the default method of connecting to printers nowadays. That's too bad, because WiFi is just not as reliable as a wired Ethernet connection (if the printer is so equipped), or properly- installed USB. Too many don't follow manufacturer USB-install instructions precisely, resulting in problems that people come here to solve.
